2010 Update - Things Are Changing.

Right, so, as we all know (all being about three people), no one reads this blog.
SO, I'm gonna mix things up a bit because we all know that it's metter to bix things up.
From the start of 2010 this blog will become solely for reviews.

"Got some tunes" will stay for a monthly dose of new songs, although the name might change. I will link a youtube playlist to the "got some tunes" post every month featuring all the songs, might get rid of the ilike playlist seeing as it isn't compatible with most web browsers =/

I will attempt to do a weekly television review. I waste so many hours in front of the telebox it'd be stupid to waste it. This will probably happen every sunday afternoon and I'll give links to iplayer and stuff so that it can easily be watched.

Thanks to Sharon, I now have spotify. This means I can review full length albums, check me ouuutt.

Oh and more of those video analysis things to come, they were well fun xD

I think that's it.
Blog title will be changing as well, but the url will stay the same (Y)

VA: Justin Bieber - One Time

VA = Video Analysis.
I just can't help myself =)

For anyone reading this who doesn't know who Justin Bieber is, he's a fifteen year old from Canada, made videos on youtube, got signed by Usher. Here's his video for "One time":

First thing is first, yes he is cute, but no I so totally wouldn't. (Surprising huh?)
Gosh there's gonna be trouble when his voice breaks =/

  • Right so JB starts off in Usher's house playing some xbox with his mate, Brian, as you do! I one, wonder if that is Usher's house, two, does Usher have an xbox and three, is Brian an actual friend of JB's?
  • "That was not luck, that was skills." Yeah I'm sure it was, shame we can't see what you're actually playing though.
  • Check out how spaced out Brian looks when JB's chatting with Usher. Made me laugh so hard xD
  • Who in their right mind would let two fifteen year olds have a party in their massivvvee house?
  • I quite like how JB only send a text to Kelsey yet some girl and her friend and some randoms on the street all get a text about this party. Brian must have been busy sending out those invites!
  • Hey, this party looks like fun, but woah wait, where's Brian? Oh no don't worry it's fine, just saw him looking bored in the background.
  • A positive comment, he has a nice watch.
  • He keeps telling me that he's going to tell me one time, but I'm not quite sure what he's going to tell me. And he has definitely told me more than once that he's going to tell me.
  • Right so this girl he's all over. Surely she's at least three years older than him and presonally, I don't think she's that much of a looker but you know, each to their own and all that.
  • "Oh shit, I have to go." Are the actual words I read off her lips. He looks proper gutted when all he gets is a kiss on the cheek xD
  • Haven't seen Brian in a while though... I wonder where he's got to =/
  • Oh hey Usher, he doesn't seem to mind a hundred or so teenagers round his house. PARTY AT USHERS (Y).
  • Oh shit, I just watched the video again and his friend isn't called Brian at all... he's called Ryan. Sorry buddy!
I liked doing this.
More of these to come methinks.

Got Some Tunes [December]

This is totally really late this month.
Apologies to anyone who cares.

You Me At Six: The consequence
New tuuuneessss. This has a bit of a 'kiss and tell' vibe about it which is probably why I like it so much. If the whole of the new album sounds like this I will be very happy =)

Hurts: Wonderful life (Arthur Baker remix)
A billion times better than the boring original. Although, it does sound like it walked straight out of the 80s and landed on my doorstep =/ Oh well, who cares if it sounds this good.

Plan B: Stay too long (Pendulum remix)
Plan B is ledge. Fact. This song is immense. Fact. The Pendulum remix only makes it better. Fact. Nuff said.

Wiley: Take that (Chew Fu remix)
I love this because it sounds like it's a tribute to the reformed manband. In fact it's not. I'm not sure how to explain this one... just listen to it. Chew Fu remix definitely better than the original.

Don Broco: Thug workout
Saw Don Broco for a bit at Underage but didn't really think that much of them. THIS SONG IS SO GOOD. "Sexy girls come up to me and they always come if you know what I mean". Ledge. The video made me laugh pretty hard too. Also check out 'Living the dream' cos I want what Mackie's got.

Lostprophets: Where we belong
Hated this when I first heard it, thought it sounded very 80s arena anthem sort of thing... But I like it now. Take back what I said about the new album, seems like might be pretty alright after all =)

Finally, I hate Christmas however this is LEDGE. I love Proceed.

Niiceeee one.

My Second Restraining Order

Do you know that I've been here everyday
Watching you, what you do, scrap the plan,
Get my senses, grab my bag and climb out the window

I know exactly where I want to be;
In your bed, lying dead.
Will that get your attention sweetie?

Fresh cut wrists and still clenched fists
Am i messing up your sheets?
Well I'll be gone soon.

You left me hanging like a noose.

Got Some Tunes [November]

The other day I saw my playlist work on firefox just as I was clicking off the page but when I went back it didn't appear. Sad times.

Alphabeat: The spell
Oh my god I love Alphabeat. I am not ashamed of this. All of their songs are catchy as hell but I do feel a tad sorry for the guy who sings (I believe his name is Anders but then again half of the band are called Anders but hey ho) cos he doesn't really sing very much anymore. Despite this it's still a pretty rad song.

30 Seconds To Mars: Kings and queens
I don't like 30 Seconds To Mars. HOWEVER, this song is extremely good. Whether you like the band or not give this song a listen because it's pretty big, rock, anthemic and the chorus will be in your head for days.

The Blackout: I don't care (This is why we can't have nice things)
TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNE. Despite going to the video shoot for this and hearing the song at least a dozen times in a row I still love it. Josh Franceschi (YM@6) sings on the ridiculously catchy chorus as well. Also on the radio edit version they've cut out the really rubbish boring bit in the middle =). Check it out. Also my hand is in the video doing a thumbs up at 14seconds in. Nice one.

Paolo Nutini: Pencil full of lead
First off, I personally don't like the new Paolo album, not because it's not good, but because it's not what I'm in to. However it is impossible to dislike this song.

The Summer Set: Chelsea
OMGLIKESOTOTALLYLOLZJKSLOLZOMG. I think that sums up this song pretty nicely. It's like All Time Low with a tonne of sugar on top.

Fenech-Soler: Lies
This has got a sort of Everything Everything/Friendly Fires kinda vibe if you're into that sort of thing. CHECK THIS OUT. It's catttcchhhyyy. I've noticed that I generally only like catchy songs... not a bad thing I don't think.

BTW. Download Canterbury's album for absolutely £0.00 at www.canterburythankyou.com

I'll Take This As My Last Chance To Impress You.

Plugged into machines at the side of the bed.
Woke up from a dream, could have sworn I was dead.
How long has it been because I miss you to death.

I've been wanting to write this for a while now but I didn't quite know what to say or how to say it.
And I still don't.

I absolutely loathe change.
Obviously things have changed.
Some changes I'm happy with but not so much with others.

I still love you.
And I miss you more than you could ever imagine.

After all that we've been through I am still here for you.
I can't stand another day inside this house.
It's breaking me down I'm so useless in here and I want out.
Talk about skeletons in your closet, well there's a fucking cemetery in mine.

Got Some Tunes [October]

I can't wait til I can do these as vlogs rather than typed...
Oh and I finally got my playlist over there --->>> to work again! As far as I am aware, it will not work for you if you use Firefox or Internet Explorer 8 or higher.
Spiffing.
Whilst trying to do this this month, I've found I have a lot of songs to shout about but not much to say about each of them =/

Glamour Of The Kill: A hope in hell
I have had this song in my head for the past 48hours. It has the catchiest 'woaaahhh woah wooaahhh woah' ever.

Mr Hudson: White lies (Rusko remix)
I absolutely hate the original version of this song. I personally think it sounds horrible to listen to. This remix however makes the song sound at least 10times better.

Cobra Starship: Good girls go bad (ft Leighton Meister)
Personally I don't like Leighton Meister but she really fits in well with this song which is, by the way, SUCH A TUNE. If it doesn't get you hooked on the first listen it sure will after the second. Spesh that lil breakdown bit in the middle which sounds a bit like Hollaback Girl.

Ou Est Le Swimming Pool: Dance the way I feel
I can remember what this song sounds like until I hear it and it gets to the chorus with the 'dance the way I feel' lyric in it. Nevertheless, it's a pretty spiffing dancey/synthy/indie tuuune.

Miike Snow: Black & Blue
Beautiful. I love this song. It's a catchy kinda mellow indie pop song. And it's really good. There's a rather immense Capsa remix of this if you prefer some dubstep. Also the video has the guy who used to play Reg in the bill in it. I loved Reg.

Ian Brown: Stellify
Oh my gaahh I love Ian Brown... well I say that but in reality I just love 'FEAR'. Point still stands. I guess this song is pretty much textbook Ian Brown but it's pretty good all the same. Although when I try to think what this sounds like I can only think of the new Robbie Williams which sounds very IanBrownish.

Everything Everything: My Kz Ur Bf
You can't go wrong with a song containing the line 'and he was looking at me like woah'. Well maybe you can but Everything Everything can't. There's also a b-side to this, can't quite remember what it's called... something to do with NASA I think. That's also worth checking out.

We Are The Ocean: These days, I have nothing
SERIOUS GROWER ALERT. On first listen this song sound dreadful and really doesn't make the new WATO album look worth it but give it a few more listens and I promise you will warm to it. The only thing wrong with this song is the bit where Dan starts talking rather than shouting... not really sure what's up with that...

Ellie Goulding: Under the sheets
She is amazing. This is her first actual proper single. Check her out if you like La Roux/Florence. I think I should find her voice really annoying but it's just not. Don't think this is as good as Starry Eyed but it's still pretty good and I've only heard it twice.

P-Money Ft. Vince Harder Love Alone
Follow up to 'Everything' and this track also features the same vocalist, Vince Harder. I'm not sure this one is as instantly likeable as the previous but it still sounds pretty good. I also find it a little repetative but not so repetative that it's not bearable. Although, the outro does seem to go on forever!

It's A Small World (Wide Web)

ZOMGLOLJKZ.

My youtube story.

About a month ago I subscribed to the LoveHateSociety channel.
A couple weeks ago I came across a youtuber called Dan2Shambles.
After the You Me At Six gig on 9/9/09 (!!!) I took the last flyer for a gig from a nice looking boy outside the venue.
Yesterday I came across a youtuber called Pete a.k.a KapowVlogging (phwwooarrrr!).
KapowVlogging has a girlfriend called lightscameraashlee.
Lightscameraashlee posted a video on the LoveHateSociety channel instead of EddPlant this week.
In this video lightscameraashlee reviewed the film 'Role Models' and a band called 'We Sunk Ships'.
She also mentioned Dan2Shambles is the drummer in We Sunk Ships.
I opened the link to the We Sunk Ships myspace; on which I found a picture of the flyer for We Sunk Ship's EP release show.
I recognised the flyer but couldn't think where from; whilst I was rumaging for my GCSE history folder under my bed I found the flyer I'd been given after the YM@6 show.

HOW GODDAMN WEIRD IS ALL OF THAT?!

Got Some Tunes [September]

I am still no where near sorting out that ridiculous playlist. I really can not be bothered to sit and battle with it anymore.

Lostprophets: It's not the end of the world but I can see it from here
I found this song extremely boring and samey when I first heard it. I actually thought "if this is what they spent the last 3years working on not only have they wasted their time but also everyone else's time who's been waiting for this MAJORLY ANTICIPATED album". But I must admit, it has grown on me a fair bit. Although it does sound very "The Blackout".

Funeral For A Friend: Wrench
I haven't been a fan of FFAF's latest work but this song sounds a lot more like their "Casually dressed..." album, which in my opinion means that this song deserves a listen from anyone in favour of old school FFAF.

The Big Pink: Dominos
And the winner for the catchiest chorus in a song ever (well maybe not ever) goes to the Big Pink. This was the first I've ever heard of their music and I must admit, it is rather good. Plus the chorus is so catchy! I did make the mistake of thinking they were American though... not sure what gave me that impression...

Pixie Lott: Boys and girls

I think that I actually LOVE Pixie Lott! Gosh she isn't half amazing! When I first heard this I thought that it was very similar to "Mama do" and yes in fact it is practically the same song with different lyrics and without that "uh oh uh oh" bit but it's still a pretty amazing fun party tune.

DJ Fresh: Hypercaine
Catchy drum and bass. Got some like 90s pop over some heavy bass. I'm not gonna be the one to say that it doesn't work.

Deaf Havana: Friends like these
I
I love Deaf Havana SO SO SO MUCH. They are so good! And with a line in this song like "We've just been getting by on stupidly good looking and spending time spitting out these stupidly good hooks". Tbh, I'm not sure about the looks part but they've definitely got the hooks down to a tee. After one listen you WILL be singing "you'll never know friends like these" for the rest of the day.

Deadmau5 ft Rob Swire: Ghosts 'N' stuff
Rob Swire being one of the guys from Pendulum. I'm gonna say I am a fan of Deadmau5 and I'm not a fan of Pendulum but without Rob on this tune it would definitely be a pretty pointless listen. Although I think this could easily be mistaken for Pendulum taking a different direction, I don't feel much Deadmau5 within it. The video was not what I was expecting.

Regaining Unconsciousness

First they put away the dealers,

Then they put away the prostitutes,

Then they shooed away the bums,

And they beat and bashed the queers,

Turned away asylum seekers,

Fed us suspicions and fears.

We didn't raise our voice,

We didn't make a fuss.

It's funny, there was no one left to notice

When they came for us.

The Blackout Secret Show.

Yesterday (Mon 3rd Aug) Ali and I went to see The Blackout at Camden Barfly.
Gosh!
We got in the queue behind a right hottie at about half 5. Doors opened at 7. We got into the actual gig room at 8. Bad times. We had quite a few jokes in the queue though, making fun of a really annoying obes
e girl with pink hair (euugghh) and her friends. HA.
Also, the guy doing the merch for The Blackout had the sexiest welsh accent ever. Plus he was pretty hot too ;)

First off were some band who I still don't know the name of but they were pretty rubbish so it really doesn't matter!

Next, WAT
O. WATO stands for We Are The Ocean if you were wondering.
It was my 5th time seeing them and they were on top form. I'm not sure it's their best performance I've seen but they were pretty brilliant.
Alfie, the 17 year old guitarist, was looking SO damn fine I actually nearly died. Wow. I love how I caught him mid-jump in that picture xD

During "Ready For The Fall", Dan, the lead singer (if you can really call it singing), came down into the crowd, quite conveniently to where Ali and I were and jumped around with us for a bit. I went so mental and it was so cool to see him like getting proper involved. I was so excited that I did wrap my arms around his hips for a little bit. I love him. But I love Alfie more. And unfortunately it was too dark for me to get a decent picture of Dan standing right in front of me =(
Long story sh
ort, We Are The Ocean were amazing as usual.

And then came the long and grueling wait f
or The Blackout.
I think pretty much everyone in the crowd could tell that this was gonna get messy.
First song: S
TFUppercut. Sean Smith is standing quite literally on top of the crowd and climbing around the room using the bars on the ceiling.
Second song: I can't even remember what it was but Gavin Butler took his turn to swing around the room
ending up standing on the bar at the other end of the room to the stage.
And then the inevitable happened, they started taking requests! Gavin chose Ali to pick one of the songs and she picked "Hard Slammin" (YES! I LOVE THAT SONG).
I managed to squeeze Gavin's arm and hold Sean's hand for a little bit. Gosshhh <3>
This gay blog just deleted the end of my post so I'm now going to rewrite it angrily. I can't remember all of what I wrote either. AARRGH.
Gavin filmed the crowd for a thing for Grimmy on Radio 1 where the band has to get the crowd to scream as loud as they can and then they put it up on the website so I'll link that when it goes up.
I have been left with a ridiculous amount of bruises and I managed to keep my glasses intact until the second to last song when they bent out of place but I've managed to sort them out now =)
Basically, The Blackout's set didn't finish until 23:20 which meant that we weren't able to stick around and meet them or WATO (even though we'd had the chance to meet Jack a.k.a. Adapoof and Alfie but we'd bottled it at the last second). So that was rubbish.
We then had a ridiculous trek to get back to my house which meant we actually arrived home just before 01:00. I was not impressed.
But all in all it was an immense night.

Finally, I'd like to say sorry to Curie who wasn't able to make it to the show last night seeing as she's in Korea at the moment. She would have loved it and I'm genuinely gutted she wasn't there with us =(
Peaaceee.

Got Some Tunes [August]

I'm not sure if this only applies to me, but I have noticed that on Firefox the 'Got Some Tunes' ilike playlist doesn't show up. I also now have an issue meaning that I can't edit the playlist at all which is a tad annoying but I'm working on it.

Panic At The Disco: New perspective
I'm not gonna lie, I thought this song was going to be dreadful and waste of my time. I stand corrected. I think it sounds like it's from the middle ground between the first and second albums but it don't sound bad at all!

Wall Street Riots: Did you know that retro-pop was an aphrodisiac
If you took William Beckett (TAI...) and stuck him in a room with Canterbury and Tonight Is Goodbye I think they would sound a lot like this. I swear this is the catchiest song I've heard since that last one from Soulja Boy.

Canterbury: Eleven twelve
Their first proper single. It's brilliant as are Canterbury. It's out on the 24th. Go buy it. OR ELSE!

Death Quit Dancing: Swings and roundabouts
This was sold to me as rock/metal/emo/panic at the disco-esque. And essentially that's what it is. I think that the singer's voice is extremely annoying but I quite like it and have got used to it but it is quite hard listening to begin with. If you like your music to confuse and bewilder you whilst you listen this is definitely for you.

Ducksauce: Anyway
Ducksauce is Armand Van Helden and A-Track coming together and making this IMMENSE dance tuune.

You Me At Six: Kiss and tell

This song is immense. It's similar to Finders Keepers but minus the dreadful chorus and I think there's a little bit of influence from songs like Gossip and Save it for the bedroom in there. If you like YM@6 definitely check it out.

Smasher: Simples
It was only a matter of time before someone sampled the 'Compare the Market' advert with the meercat, you know the one. Luckily this guy has and god has he done it well!

Sixty.

Louise is walking down the road. HEY LOUISE! Wow, that's irrelevant!

Sixty seconds in a minute.
Sixty minutes in an hour.
So why does the clock never read 60? It just goes straight to 0. You can't have 0 seconds or 0 minutes! I will invent a clock that reads 60.

On facebook a while ago there was a thing where you had to write 25 things about yourself.
So if 25 wasn't enough, here are 60:

1) My full name is Natalie Isabella Haynes Webb.
2) Most people call me Natta but I prefer Natalie.
3) At the time of writing this there were 128days until I am 17.
4) I talk way too much.

5) I never have any money and when I do I spend it on stuff I don't need.
6) I'm not stupid, I just don't have a very wide vocabulary. I keep a dictionary next to the computer at all times.
7) I love to contradict myself.
8) Don't lie to me.
9) Don't move my stuff.
10) I get angry pretty easily. Just don't piss me off.
11) I'm good at making myself laugh/smile again when I am pissed off.
12) I believe I have multiple sclerosis and persecutory paranoia. But I don't think I'm a hypochondriac.

13) In my opinion I make amazing party mixes and mix CDs. I'll make you one for your birthday.
14) I wish Mr Allis had never left and I miss my drumming times with Alex.
15) I love the Kerrang! Unsigned show more than any other radio show.
16) I love unsigned shows, I genuinely find new music really exciting.
17) I hate unsigned shows, I can't find the music anywhere.
18) I'd do anything for Caterbury and Exit Avenue. Those guys are lovely.
19) I'd love to own a record label and have my own radio show.
20) Warped Tour 2010 and T in the Park 2011. Wanna come?
21) I buy Rock Sound every month without fail. I'll subscribe when the offer includes a good CD.
22) Deaf Havana are officially my new favourite band. I've been into them for a while, but GOSH are they good!
23) I just made my first ever megamix; i.e. I shoved 5songs together and called it a new song.
24) I listen to radio 1 a hell of a lot. I LOVE ZANE LOWE! And Huw Stephens.

25) I have movie nights every Friday 13th. Next movie night November 13th; Birthday special!
26) I wish that I could draw well.
27) I love those little 10 year old skaters. They're so cuuute!
28) I'd really rather not do A Levels and I don't wanna go to Uni.
29) I hate going on holiday. I'm afraid I'll miss something.
30) I like rainbows and thunderstorms but I've never seen them together.
31) Crosswords and soduko are amazing to pass the time.
32) Reading is the most boring pastime ever.
33) There are over 120 posters on my bedroom walls.
34) Sony Ericssons are the worst phones ever.
35) My mother employs me to do the laundry.
36) I tan ridiculously easily but I hate going outside. I also don't see the appeal of having a tan.
37) Straight edge? Pretty much. Unlike the last person who told me they were. You know who you are. And I know something you think I don't =)
38) You know I buy the Tony Hawk games for the bonus footage of Ryan Sheckler.
39) I love twitter so much. It tells me everything.
40) I wear the same clothes all year round.
41) I love my handwriting but I need to learn to write faster than I do.
42) I spend way too long on the computer.
43) I eat way too much. It's funny because then I wonder why I'm overweight.
44) I could eat ketchup or cream with anything.
45) Curie got me obsessed with youtube. Favourite youtubers include: AmazingPhil, Charlieissocoollike, KickthePJ and DFizzy.
46) I hate piercings.
47) I want to get tattoo sleeve on the top half of my left arm.

48) I watch way too much tv.
49) One Tree Hill is my favourite programme but I don't get why they brought back every character in Series 5 apart from Nikki and Jake. I need Jake Jagelski in my life!

50) It was a bad idea to give me freeview in my room because I now never leave my room.
51) I'm gonna go on Wordplay on channel 5. I'd be brilliant and would for sure win the £1000.
52) Ami and I were on tv on Sound on BBC Switch, it was the show with You Me At Six and Chipmunk.

53) I love the Eardley family a ridiculous amount. I have no idea where I'd be without them.
54) If I could only pick one, it'd be a tough choice between Josh Franceschi and PJ Liguori but I think Josh would pull through in the end.
55) Alex Baker (Kerrang! radio) is such a ledge, he is amazing.
56) I aspire to drum as well as Travis Barker.
57) Sean Smith is the sexiest man alive.
58) Yes, I find Russell Howard funnier than he actually is because he's hot... and what?
59) I get very scared when people I don't know come up to me and call me by my full name.

HP & Order of the Phoenix.

I am currently watching this film. Illegally on the net of course.
And Curie has gone to bed, rightly so as it is now 02:20 in Korea.
Therefore I am left with no one to talk to about this film.
So a blog seems appropriate.
Just to let you know, I'm currently 50min into this film.
  • At 43min there was a proper hottie at the breakfast table next to Ron ;)
  • So now they're in the common room talking to Serius. I'm sorry, but how have the three of them managed to get the room all to themselves out of the whole of gryffindor?! Also, from what we see of the common room (and this applies in the games as well as the books) there are blatently not enough dorms for everyone in the gryffindor house to sleep.
  • Luna Lovegood: Gosh she's weird. But I think she'd be quite good in a horror film.
  • Phwwooarr. Fuck me Rupert Grint and the twins are ridiculously hot.
  • Why the hell is Harry wearing a cardi? All the other boys are wearing jumpers, yet he is looking camper than usual in this stupid attire.
  • OMG LOL. Cho and Harry's first kiss looks so awkward it's hilarious. Arms down by their sides and all. Plus Harry just looks like a right knob.
  • Do you ever wonder why in the HP films it snows before christmas? That never happens in real life.
  • Have you ever thought that maybe in real life that like Daniel Radcliffe actually really doesn't like Emma Watson or that maybe she hates Rupert Grint but they're forced to have to get along.
  • I'm only an hour and 15min into this but from what I remember of the actual story in the book, they miss out so much about the order and that horrible house elf.
  • When they're conjuring the patronus (or whatever it's called) in Harry's defence class, does anyone else find Harry ridiculously patronising to all of them, even the twins who are like two years older than him.
  • I absolutely LOVE the portraits in Hogwarts. I want moving pictures in my house.
  • Aww! When Ron gets all protective over Hermione when they meet the giant. I love him.
  • When you know about Dumbledore being gay and all, does him saying to Harry "I care too much about you " seem a little bit like he's hitting Harry?
  • That longshot at the end of the film that shows the station and then goes up to show Hogwarts; you can't tell me that they seriously walked all that way.
  • And finally, I hate how all the films have happy endings. JESUS.
  • Oh actually, one more thing! Why does no one in the wizarding world have a mobile phone, an mp3 or a games console? Huh?

Feel free to comment on any of the issues that I have mentioned in this post. (NB You don't need to have an account or w/e to be able to comment)

Got Some Tunes [July]

Just quickly, I've added a playlist to the right hand side of the page where I've added all possible songs from these types of blogs to make checking them out a bit easier. Songs on the playlist are in italics.
Here we go again:

Set Your Goals: This will be the death of us
I LOVE SET YOUR GOALS. This song is really good xD It's got Vinnie from the band 'I Am The Avalanche', he pretty much makes this song. It's funny because France is probably the only person I know who knows who I Am The Avalanche are. They're good checkem out. Along with this song.

Get Set Radio: I kissed a girl
Oh yes I love covers of this song. I think Get Set Radio sound and look a little like Exit Avenue. Their music isn't amazing but I quite liked it. I also liked this video. Watch til the end, it made me laugh =)

All Time Low: Damned if I do ya (damned if I don't)
Tuuune. In my opinion it's way better than weightless (first single from the new album). It's a lot catchier and poppier and just all round better. Check it.

Madina Lake: Lets get outta here
God this is 10000000000times better than the last single. It sounds pretty retro and it has a rather catchy chorus. I must say, it has made me maybe wanna check out their new album.

George Lenton feat. Perkie: Sleep
I heard this on Kerrang! radio, which is really weird cos if you do listen to it, it is very electro and not particularly rock but it does sound very good. Also, I'd quite like to know, the girl on vocals sounds SO MUCH like someone else but I just can't think who, any suggestions?

All Time Low: Weightless
I know that I said that I wasn't a huge fan of this song but the video is pretty amazing.

P-Money ft. Vince Harder: Everything
Oh my god this is a tuuune. It's catchy and dancey and a lil bit hip hopy. And totally worth checking out (Y)

I Can't Believe This.

Once again, somehow, I have managed to inflict a virus upon my computer.
But only this time I did absolutely nothing to bring this virus about.
I am very very very angry.
Arrgghhh, I think I may actually cry.
The internet is such a loser.

Not only does this virus keep sending out links on facebook but also
Firefox isn't working (no great loss seeing as my Internet Explorer has decided to pick up again).
Videos on youtube won't work cos I can't download the new flash player.

I am currently doing a nice little scan of my computer, so hopefully that will turn something up that can sort out all my issues.
Also, just a quick question, if I delete something from the virus vault does that mean that I've deleted it from my computer or that I've released it back onto my computer?

Raahhh... I bet it's my mum that's got all these viruses!
All those illegal downloads she does =/

Sorry to anyone that my virus has annoyed. Although it really isn't my fault that I have it.
James thinks I'm a right knob. Oh well... =(
I'm off to throw myself out of a window.
I hate life.

Got Some Tunes [June]

I figured that I'm going to do this every month.
And I'm gonna update throughout the month so check back to see if anything's changed.

Asher Roth: Boom boom pow
He did this cover in the live lounge it is SO GOOD.
Charlotte also pointed out to me that he's actually quite buff... I never noticed.

MSTRKRFT feat John Legend: Heartbreaker
It's just good dance music. I love this song, I turn it up ridiculously loud when it's on the radio.

La Roux: Bulletproof
It's not better than 'In for the kill', it's just as good.

Eminem: Beautiful
It's quite dark but like, it's really worth a listen. Admittedly I only liked the starting and ending bit the first time I heard it but it is a definite grower.

Carolina Liar: Show me what I'm looking for
Apparently this was on 90210. I wouldn't know, I don't watch that awful programme. Nevertheless, it is a rather good song. (I really need to find a synonym for 'good')

You Me At Six: Pokerface
The vocals aren't particularly good on this but it's worth looking at right? Phwwooaar

Eminem: 3am [Travis Barker remix]
I'm not sure that it's better than the original, but it definitely adds something to the song that the original was lacking... and by that I don't mean some TB drumming...

Ellie Goulding: Starry eyed
This is officially the most amazing song ever. That is not an overstatement. It's like a mixture between La Roux and Florence and the Machine. It is well worth checking out. There's also a dupstep remix by Jakwob which is rather good also.
Kof: Famous
He's good! Although I can not find this song anywhere on the internet =( But it samples that song that goes, "when will I-will I be famous". It's reeeeeally catchy and a bit of a tune.
Stornoway: Zorbing
Stornoway are like a lil indie/folk band and this is the first song I've ever heard of theirs. It's pretty mellow and summery. Also check out the video (I cba to link it) cos they've got some pretty fetching hats going on xD

You Me At Six on BBC Sound

Okay, so this was a total massive suprise for Ami's birthday. She had totally no idea what we were doing until Curie told her whilst we were queueing.
Oh my god. I don't think that I have ever done so much queueing and waiting around in one afternoon (except maybe at Thorpe Park) as I did yesterday. It was rather ridiculous.
So let me tell you the story [NB: If you cba to read all this just skip to "the good bit"]:

So Ami and I got on the train to Victoria from East Croydon, only then to discover that the Victoria line wasn't working. This led to the MOST MASSIVE trek around east London EVER. Serious it was like, 20min on the circle line from Victoria to Liverpool street, then 10min on the central line from Liverpool street to Stratford and then another 10min on the overground from Stratford to Hackney Central. Of course there were quicker routes but that is not the point.
Okay so Curie and Ali are there already when we get there along with rather a lot of other people. The extremely camp guy (who I did in fact come to like throughtout the afternoon) comes round asking for people who have priority tickets. Naturally I said no. Less than 2minutes later I realise that I do indeed have priority tickets. So theres me running down the road and I run up to him and I'm like "no, wait, sorry, I do have priority tickets" and he totally didn't believe me until I showed him the email.
I've just realised this all sounds extremely boring. So I'll continue quickly. Basically: Curie and Ali dont get in cos they dont have priority but then they get priority to another one, Ami and I wait around a lot, we go inside and fill in a form, we wait around some more, we go out side to wait around some more, and some more, and then some more. AND THEN we finally go to the place. It was funny having 60+ people walking around London in one big group.

The Good Bit
Ami and I get inside. I'm all like "oh my god, we're in the tv, this is weird" and Ami's all like "oh my god, you me at six are like that far away from us, this is weird". I assure you, it was rather weird. I will now list what happened in the order it happened... as best I can remember (yes I know it was only yesterday but I forget these things).

1.
You Me At Six come in and everyone screams. Standard. They did Finders Keepers and Save It For The Bedroom. They did both of them quite a number of times cos Josh kept messing them up. But hey who cares, he looked fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. So yeah that was good. Oh apart from Max spitting. Not kool. Hopefully they show that on tv. But basically he spits and it goes over everyone near him. IT WENT IN MY EYE. It stung =(

2.
Annie and Nick come out and do their opening link. So Nick's standing there with a carrot stick in hand and just goes "argh why is it so hot?" We laughed but I don't think he heard.

3.
Fanprentice. Was alright. It was so obvious that the girl who won was gonna win though. She looked a bit like Amelia's cousin I thought.

4.
Chats with You Me At Six. I think this was the highlight. And my favourite bit of the day. Basically they're doing a quiz for Josh where they go around his room and then they ask him questions about it. They will probably edit it out though.
Annie: Question one. According to your band mates, what do you spend the most time doing in your bed?
Josh sits back in his seat and says: Well I don't like to brag but err you know...
Annie: No, not that, a) reading, b) sleeping or c) masturbating?
I thought that was ratherrrr funny.

5.
Chats with Chipmunk. He was quite funny. But he did look extremely bored whilst they were talking to YMAS. But yeah he was good.

6.
Grimshaw Files. We were quite near the back so couldn't really see what was going on but yeah.

7.
Oh my god and then they made us do things. How embarrasing. She was like, "applause, now a little bit of appluase, now do a big belly laugh (this was most embarrasing), and then laugh as if it's only a bit funny, now aww as if something was sweet, and finally make a noise as though something was really gross. I think this was just to make us look silly.

So there it was. We didn't get to meet Annie, Nick or You Me At Six.
BUT!
I cunningly recognised Exit Avenue! So I walk up to them and I say, "sorry, are you exit avenue?"
And drummer goes, "I think you've just made our day"
One of them turns around like, "has it just happened?"
And the drummer's like, "yeah we just got recognised, and it's at you me at six's shoot as well."
So they all gave me a high five =)
We also got them to have a picture with the Is This Canterbury (www.myspace.com/isthiscanterbury) sticker thing.
And then it was time for a rather long trek home. It took an hour and a half to be precise.
But was a good day overall. And Ami enjoyed it which was the main aim of the day.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00l1tg8
You can watch it here until 6th June.
We're on during Grimshaw files (from 9.00) and during the end performance (from 26.20)

THE SOMME!

So let me tell you about THE most pointless school trip I have ever been on.
I swear, I didn't even realise that all the places we saw were where 'The Somme' was.
I was waiting for some big 'And THIS is THE Somme' climax. I assure you, that never came.

So, at school just after 5 am =|
We had two coach drivers who both liked to think they were quite funny. They weren't.
Eurotunnel. I volunteered to paint the walls of the tunnel so people have something to watch whilst their travelling. Might take me a while though. These four decided they needed to lay down on the floor and so took up this odd position in a square:

Ermm yeah we just spent a ridiculous amount of time on a coach. Katie bought a book at Dover and read it before we got to Calais on the way home.
We ate a lot as well =)

We saw a lot of graves i.e. people buried under the ground (sometimes in layers on top of each other) which freaks me out a lot.

We found quite a few funny names on the graves and memorial buildings. Here are my favourites.
Curry:

Ruffles:

At the Canadian place the guy didn't like us very much and followed us around. But there were loads of actual real trenches which I thought were quite kool. Look, it's us in an ACTUAL trench, how exciting!

Sally also tried to talk to sheep, in sheep language. They consequently moved away from her.

We got some nice ice cream at the Irish Memorial place. I got a tropical Callipo, was well good (Y).

On the way back we got to the train just in time before it left. And here occured the MOST pointless event of the trip. We ALL had to get off of the coach to show the very grumpy people our passports and then had to get back on the coach, only to get off of it once again once we'd actually boarded the train. Jeeeez.
By the time we got back to school (20:45) I was getting prreettyy cranky and took it upon myself to get the bus home. A couple of lovely year 10s took it upon themselves to shout at me that I was crazy. I then asked them how else I was meant to get home and they ran away.

No New Stuff!

Easter has been and gone, and as I fully well expected on Friday morning, I have no new stuff.

My mother said (promised) that over the weekend:
1) I would get a new phone
2) I would get a new tv
3) We would sort out my bank account
4) I would get new clothes for work experience & sixth form
5) Also (this has nothing to do with my mother but nevertheless) I hoped to receive my Attack!Attack! shoes.
None of this has happened. NONE of it.
I am not surprised. Every time that my mother says she will do/buy/get something, it tends not to happen. I was meant to get a drum kit 2years ago (I think). If anyone knows where that drum kit is I would gladly love to hear where!

So, I will deal with what I haven't got in the following ways:
1) I will just have to deal with a phone where half the buttons don't work. But I may be getting a new one tomorrow night!
2) During the process of our living room being redone (therefore there will be no tv) I will have to watch all my tv on the net... that's a lot of hours on the computer =/
3) I will carry on to be poor and but I will be £370 poorer.
4) I won't go to work experience! Woop woop! Or to a sixth form where I have to wear a suit! Woop woop woop!
5) I must command my mother to ring the people and ask about them. Or I could read her e-mails which she evidently doesnt read (270something UNREAD EMAILS!) and see if they have mailed her.
Jeeeezzz!

Oh em geeeees. Prodigy on friday. Yes please! I love you Katie!
Over & out. I'm going to go and run outside and scream 'fuck' at the top of my lungs. They're all doing it in the movies! Well, just in Donnie Darko and Little Miss Sunshine, but my point still stands.

To Do List: Must Get A Life.

Oh dear.
I must admit though, it has been an idea of mine to get a blog up and running for a while. But I thought now was a perfect time seeing as just what I need is another distraction from revision.
I don't know how often I'm gonna update this thing. It'll probably get to next week and I will have forgotten all about it.
But hey, it's the thought that counts.

Nice one.
